옥인 콜렉티브의 인터넷 라디오 스테이션 STUDIO+82 (http://okin.cc/radio) 에 오신 것을 환영합니다.
2010년 9월 1일 첫 방송을 시작한 옥인 인터넷 라디오 [STUDIO+82]는 옥인 콜렉티브의 출발점이 되었던 종로구 옥인아파트 재개발 지역과 같이 도시에서 끊임없이 마주치게 되는 홈과 같은 공간, 그 과정에서 생성되는 일시적인 커뮤니티, 혹은 다양한 협업자들과의 연대감, 작업의 조건으로서 경험하게 되는 특정지역에 대한 호기심을 기본적인 태도로 ‘청취’의 기술을 연마하며, ‘간-극의 브릿지’가 되기를 자처한다. 그러나 여기서‘간-극의 브릿지’란 모든 경계들의 다리가 될 수는 없으며, 특정한 이론을 실천하기 위한 장이 아니다. 옥인 라디오는 옥인 콜렉티브가 겪게 되는 삶의 조건들과 작가들의 관심사를 중심으로 파생되는-이웃에서 듣게 되는- 이야기들을 무작위로 엮어가는 게릴라 방송의 형식을 취한다.
After broadcasting the first show of Okin Internet Radio [STUDIO+82] on 1st September in 2010, we have been improving the technique of ‘Listening’ based on an inquisitive attitude about the furrow-like spaces to face easily and continuously in the city like Okin Apartments redevelopment site in which Okin Collective was born, or the specific sites to stay as a condition of working and also about solidarity with various collaborators or temporary communities happened on the process. And we set up ourselves as a kind of bridge in-between borders. But the bridge can’t be for all kinds of borders and it’s not means to practice a certain theory. Okin Radio is carrying guerrilla broadcasting form to fabricate stories-to be heard from neighbors- derived from surroundings or interests of Okin Collective members randomly.

옥인 라디오 특집 "바닥의 노래를 들어라"
옥인 콜렉티브는 두산 갤러리에서 열린 전시 ‘파동 The Forces behind’에서 설치작업과 함께 기획특집 방송 “바닥의 노래를 들어라”를 진행했다. 기획 방송의 주제는 ‘바닥’과 ‘노래’이다. 여기서 바닥이란 구조와 주체가 대립하고 싸우며 역동적으로 형성해 나가는 ‘장(場)’의 개념에 가깝다. 예술과 생계라는 다양한 형태의 난제를 위해 공생을 모색해야 하는 예술 생산자의 입장에서, 그리고 삶과 밀착된 또 다른 음악을 기대하는 소비자/향유자의 입장에서 노래를 둘러싼 이들의 이야기에 주목한다.

Okin Radio Special "Hear the Ground Sing"
In the Exhibition, The Forces Behind, Okin Collective is showing us their new year’s special broadcast, titled: Hear the Ground Sing. The main themes of the recordings are ‘ground’ and ‘song’. Here, the ground is like a forum where the structure and the object cross each other, dynamically shaping out their goals. The focus is on the group’s stories of life and music, as artists who must always seek to balance between the variables of art and life, and also as customers/beneficiaries searching for new kinds of music that sing about the different things in life.

옥인 콜렉티브의 인터넷 라디오 스테이션 STUDIO+82는 "안녕없는 생활들, 모험들"(부산시립미술관, 2011.12.17-2012.2.12) 전시기간 동안 2010년 9월부터 방송된 프로그램들로 이루어진 ‘아카이브 쇼’를 기획하고 공개방송을 진행했다.
12월 27일에 있었던 공개방송에서는 네덜란드 카스코 디렉터인 최빛나씨가 게스트로 초대되어, 카스코에서 이루어지는 활동, <대가사혁명> 프로젝트와 관련 작품들을 소개하고 체제에 대응하는 방식으로써 예술-매체의 전략 등에 대해 이야기를 나누었다. 특히 지난 방송에서도 소개되었던 헬케 산더의 단편 영화 No. 1 From the Reports of Security Guards and Patrol Services (1984) 와 김진숙씨가 크레인에서 직접 찍은 동영상을 중심으로 이야기가 진행되었는데 이 두 영상은 지역과 시간을 넘어서 한 패를 이루며 여성성, 그리고 생활의 절박한 문제, 노동, 저항의 아름다움과 힘을 응축해 드러내고 있다.

Binna Choi is a director of Casco. Casco, Office for Art, Design and Theory, established in 1990 in Utrecht, is a public art institution that supports cross-disciplinary and collabora- tive practices, and engages with the idea of constructing an alternative social space. Currently on view is the final exhibition of The Grand Domestic Revolution–User’s Manual, the two-year “living research” project that explores the possibilities of post-capitalist ways of living and working in contemporary society. The exhibition also includes the film by German feminist filmmaker Helke Sander No. 1 From the Re- ports of Security Guards and Patrol Servic- es (1984). 옥인 콜렉티브는 금천예술공장에 같은 시기에 입주하게 된 인도네시아 작가 엠지 프링고토노의 작업을 알게 되었고, 그의 작업에 대한 우리의 지지와 공감을 방송을 통해서 표현하고 싶었다. 엠지와의 짧은 인터뷰와 두 개의 비디오 작품을 소개하며 더 많은 분들과 공유할 기회가 되기를 바란다. 그는 Dinas Artistik Kota(Artistic City Department), 즉 ‘예술적 도시부’라는 가짜 행정 부서를 만들고 공무원처럼 행세하며, 거리 예술가들이 안전하게 작업할 수 있도록 도와주는 프로젝트를 진행했다. 또한 Jalur sepeda2(Bicycle Lane2)에서는 위험하게 방치된 자전거 사용자들을 위해서 거리에 자전거 도로 표시를 그려 넣어 임시적으로 시민들이 자전거 도로를 이용할 수 있도록 유도하였다. 프로젝트 이후 그 거리에는 실제로 자전거 도로가 생겼다고 한다.

Directors | 김준호, 박채은 Kim Jun ho, Park Chae eun2011 | HDV | Color | 18min _ 강바닥을 파헤치고, 수도 없이 모래를 퍼다 나르는 4대강 건설노동자들의 고단한 삶과 내려앉을 자리를 찾지 못해 공중을 맴도는 겨울철새들의 풍경이 쓸쓸하고 아리다. _ 옥인 콜렉티브는 “로드쇼:대한민국” 프로젝트에 참여하여 2011년8월 18일-26일 뉴욕 아이빔(Eyebeam Art and Technology Center)의 6명의 작가, 9명의 한국 작가들과 낙동강 상류의 내성천을 시작으로 안동과 칠곡 등을 거쳐서 낙동강 최하류인 부산의 을숙도까지 답사 여행을 했다. 그리고 여행의 과정에서 강을 직접 체험하며 강이 처한 현실에 대한 많은 고민이 시작되었다. 이번 여행은 ‘로드쇼:대한민국’의 시작일뿐이다. 로드쇼의 결과를 서둘러 발표하기에 앞서 먼저 4대강 개발에 대한 다양한 시각을 접하고 공유할 기회를 만들고자 한다.

Okin Collective travelled with six Artists from eyebeam Art and Technology Center (new York) and nine South Korean artists (Seoul) to Busan, following the nakdong river and visiting sites such as naesungc- hun under the project name “ROADSHOW: SOUTH KOReA.” This road show started from questions about a development proj- ect that could not be described as urbaniza- tion or natural preservation; and the artist’s role in dealing with such issues. From time to time, local activists and residents joined along the journey and we visited several sites that involved complex social issues.
This documentary film entitled River Work- ers was made by two directors of the “4 Rivers Filming project.” Very soon we will broadcast this film with english subtitles.
